In July 2025, Brazil experienced a notable 14.2% increase in new car sales, reaching 243,200 units. Within this sector, passenger car sales rose by 14.3%, totaling 181,800 units. The light commercial vehicle segment also saw growth, with an 11.8% increase bringing sales to 48,500 units. Additionally, truck sales surged by 24.5% to 10,600 units, while bus sales climbed by 21.3%, reaching 2,381 units.

However, the National Association of Automotive Vehicle Manufacturers has adjusted its 2025 outlook in response to the impact of rising interest rates and other macroeconomic influences. The domestic market's sales growth projection is now set at 5%, slightly down from the earlier forecast of 6.3%. In contrast, export expectations have been significantly bolstered, with a projected increase of 38.4%, amounting to 551,000 units. This surge is largely attributed to the unexpectedly strong recovery of demand in the Argentine market for vehicles produced in Brazil.
