Consumer prices in Argentina saw a month-on-month increase of 1.9% in July 2025, marking a continued rise from the lowest inflation rate of 1.5% observed since May 2020. This increase surpassed market expectations of a 1.8% rise. Notably, prices increased across several categories: food and non-alcoholic beverages escalated by 1.9% compared to a 0.6% rise in June; transportation experienced a 2.8% increase from 1.6%; restaurant and hotel prices were up by 2.8% from 2.1%; and communications rose to 2.3% from 1.8%. Conversely, there was a deceleration in prices for clothing and footwear, which dropped by 0.9% compared to a 0.5% rise; education prices grew by 1.9%, down from 3.7%; housing and utilities saw a 1.5% increase, sliding from 3.4%; and health costs increased by 1.1%, down from 2.2%. On an annual basis, consumer prices increased by 36.6%, following a trend of disinflation and representing the smallest annual rise since March 2021, a decrease from June's 39.4% and aligning with predictions.
